Project Snapshot:

Location: Canary Wharf, London
Building type: Commercial offices
Service delivered: Full glazing and façade restoration
Access method: Rope access
Project type: Planned façade refurbishment and ongoing PPM

The Brief:

Dynamic Access were appointed to carry out full glazing and façade restoration across the entirety of KPMG’s offices in Canary Wharf. Working alongside one of the country’s leading façade restoration companies, the scope covered the complete refurbishment of the building’s anodised façade details and the removal of limescale deposits from all glazing units. The works were to be delivered without disrupting the building’s busy operational environment throughout.

The Challenge:

The scale of the project. covering the entire building, required careful planning to ensure all areas of the façade and glazing could be safely accessed and treated to a consistent standard. With the building remaining fully operational, all works had to be coordinated to minimise any impact on KPMG’s staff and day-to-day activities, ruling out access methods that would have created disruption at ground level or around the building’s entrance and surroundings.

Our Solution:

Dynamic Access deployed specialist teams using rope access as the sole method of access throughout, allowing the works to progress across all elevations without disruption to the building below. Specialist products and techniques were applied to restore and refurbish the anodised façade details to the building’s entirety, followed by the removal of limescale from all glazing units, leaving the building cosmetically refreshed across the full façade. All works were delivered to a high standard in coordination with the lead façade restoration contractor.

The Outcome:

The full glazing and façade restoration was completed across the entirety of the KPMG building, restoring its appearance and protecting the façade for years ahead. On completion, a future planned preventative maintenance programme was instructed and maintenance recommendations were incorporated into the building’s O&M manual, ensuring the structure remains properly maintained going forward. The project demonstrated Dynamic Access’ capability to deliver large-scale façade restoration in a high-profile, fully occupied commercial environment using rope access alone.

If you need specialist support with glazing and façade restoration, anodised façade refurbishment or planned maintenance in London or across the UK, Dynamic Access can provide safe, thorough delivery using rope access — with no disruption to your building’s operations.
