The Brief:
Dynamic Access have undertaken a number of projects on the large glazed atrium at Barclaycard’s headquarters in Northampton, providing both planned preventative maintenance and reactive glazing works across multiple visits. The relationship covers a broad scope of glazing and building services, with all works carried out outside of normal hours to ensure no disruption to Barclaycard’s staff or day-to-day operations.
The Challenge:
Working within a large occupied corporate headquarters, protecting the continuity of the building’s operations was a consistent requirement across every visit. The glazed atrium environment and the need to access high-level vents and glazing units safely, without the use of conventional scaffolding, called for a specialist rope access approach throughout. The addition of a new fire protection system also required careful coordination to ensure the building’s fire safety remained intact at all stages of the works.
Our Solution:
Dynamic Access’ specialist rope access technicians delivered a comprehensive programme of works across the Barclaycard atrium, covering PPM servicing, glazing replacements, and the replacement of actuators to all high-level vents. The team also installed a new Vesta fire protection system as part of the wider scope. All works were carried out exclusively via rope access and scheduled outside of normal working hours, ensuring Barclaycard’s staff and operations were unaffected throughout each visit.
The Outcome:
All glazing, servicing and fire system works were successfully completed across the programme, with Barclaycard’s headquarters maintained to a high standard and its operations undisturbed throughout.
