Scope of works
This project incorporated a number of phases, to restore the glazing on the Nationwide Building Society Head Office.
Phase 1: the servicing and gasket replacement to an extensive roof atria circa 30 years old, our works package was purposely designed and planned to bring the glazed structure back up to a fully serviceable condition where the newly installed components will last the building for a further 25 years of safe serviceability,
Phase 2: the replacement of circa 250No overhead glazing units, due to the size of the building and the difficulties in reaching all areas with ground cranes we planned and designed temporary work structure on the and positioned a number of spider cranes at roof level.
This phase of the project was all conducted outside of normal working hours without affecting the daily operations of the building, all replacement works were undertaken by our specialist rope access glazing teams.
During this phase of the works we utilised specialist lifting equipment supplied by GGR.
Phase 3: ongoing year on year PPM and servicing ensuring the structure remains fully serviceable and safe for many years.
